Daniel Svoboda

Is Chairman of the association Development Worldwide and an independent consultant, lecturer and evaluator. He specializes on environment protection and on evaluations of development projects. He is actively engaged in international processes focused on development effectiveness and sustainable development. He is a Board member of the Czech Evaluation Society, and a member of the European Evaluation Society and the International Development Evaluation Association IDEAS (serving as its Vice-President in 2009-2012). Since 1995 he cooperates with the Ministry of the Environment and the Ministry of Finance in the field of assessment and remediation of environmental burdens. Since 2009 he has been working for the European Commission as a member of the external monitoring team for the environmental program LIFE. Since 2007, he organizes EPDET – European Program for Development Evaluation Training. Since 2011, he is a member of the Working Group “Evaluations” of the Czech Council for Development Cooperation, and since 2014, a member of the Reference group on Evaluations of the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
